Teilnehmer des Workcamps 2004 For four years, the Nature Park Barnim has already been host for teenagers from all around the world. Certainly, one criterion for such an great interest in this project is the park's proximity to Berlin. So, the participants have the possibility to use the diverse cultural offers of the metropolis during their spare time and to learn to know a part of Germany better. The cultural exchange among each other is the second important criterion for the willingness to come in our region for three weeks to work and to spend the unattended time together.

The municipality of Zepernick as this year's partner selected the former Robert-Koch-Park as activity-field. This park, founded as teaching - and show garden in the sixties, once attained importance even outside the Land Brandenburg. Rare and interesting varieties of most different garden plants were displayed here. Several times, the area of the Park had been increased and changed, but now, after a decade of neglect, it is completely overgrown. Now, a club is in founding that wants to support its preservation and to make the park usable for the public again. In the past, the high care-expenditure was a big problem for its preservation. In future, this expenditure shall be minimized by the recreation. The participants will have to do a lot of work in these three weeks in order to manage the beginning of this future. To see in detail what the participants did, read the following diary of the camp.
